Hello, Explorers! ⛵

Version 1.0.0 IS HERE.

I have been working on this update for so long, and finally, I am happy to say, it’s ready for you all!

Before I jump into the (almost) full changelog, I want to thank, as always, Zeke (@MrDaGrover) who has been testing the hell out of it, and giving lots of ideas, suggestions and supporting me these months… THANKS A LOT ZEKE, RAR Islands wouldn’t be the same without you! ❤️

Without further ado, let’s go to the changes…


Changelog#

With this update, the game brings a lot of QOL improvements, normal game content, post-game content, export/import feature, and much more!

Post-Game Content#

This update brings a whole post-game experience for those who want to keep going after completing the main journey. I won’t spoil too much, but expect new island types, new dungeon type with new bosses, post-game materials, and some other things to keep you busy for a long time!

Echo Legacies System#

Important part of the post-game: this new system lets you carry benefits across cycles!

There are over 20 different legacies covering all kinds of playstyles, unlocking across your first New Cycles: from gathering and crafting to trading, sailing, small item storage across cycles, and much more. Discover them yourself! 😊

New Content#

  • Shadow Items: New crafting recipes for Shadow Sword, Shield, Cloak, and Boots
  • Void Potion: Special potion to guarantee Void Rifts to drop Void Orbs
  • Post-game materials & items: New materials and powerful items to be found and unlocked through New Cycles (won’t spoil more than that!)
  • Explorer Perks: Modified existing Explorer’s Outpost Perks order, thresholds, and added new ones
  • New Explorer’s Outpost Requests: Unlock them at any Explorer’s Outpost!
  • New Chef NPC: Find and help them while exploring, and learn new recipes by doing so!
  • Wisdom Fragments System: Track wisdom across cycles with header display and stats
  • Wise Screen: Stats log per cycle (turns, dungeons, quests, etc.)
  • Rarity NPCs: Special NPCs with enhanced rewards
  • Advanced Book improvements: Shows gatherable regeneration ticks
  • Explorer’s Perk: See dungeon type before docking
  • And more…

Quality of Life#

  • Constructor Catalogue: View known building requirements from any Village
  • Pin Items: Mark items on your inventory for easy tracking (very useful to pin items like the Echo Seed 😉)
  • Durability Warning: Get warned before equipment breaks!
  • Multi-Quaff/Eat: Use multiple items in dungeon preparation, with better UX for popup height
  • Sorted Island Content: You asked for it, I’ve added it. Finally.
  • Show repair, gemstone binding, and tinkering confirmations
  • Jump to current island button while sailing
  • Expand village opens village UI directly
  • Improved island filter and shop inventory ordering
  • Shop price shown in item titles
  • Updated gemstone and item sell prices
  • Allow upgrading villages with previous tier materials
  • Library advanced books available beyond completing the game
  • And more…

  • Fixed abandon request properly (allow accepting back to origin)
  • Fixed counting when building Explorer’s Outpost
  • Fixed amount not shown on items bottom sheet (Food/Material Food)
  • Fixed favorite island button issues
  • Fixed sound select on bottom sheet
  • Fixed village bottom sheet issue
  • Fixed various screens paddings and button issues
  • Fixed bottom sheet scroll (Echo Chamber, Village Build, etc.)
  • Fixed dungeon preparation screen spacing
  • Fixed Atlas scrollbar and added scrollbar to dungeon output
  • Fixed duplicated Shaper Fragments (now shows a different message when already known)
  • Fixed crafting recipe knowledge indicator (see if recipe is known in shops)

  • Improved tutorial (sailing explanation, boat tooltip)
  • Fixed accessibility issues

So, I may have missed some things on the list, but I hope you folks enjoy the game more now that it’s more polished, has more content, and replayability. I myself have been play-testing it A LOT, and getting really hooked by it! I know I shouldn’t say this, but it’s true! 😄

Anyway… one more thing… I almost forgot to mention something else…

… I’ve been working on a Wiki of the game in this same page!

It’s not 100% completed, and may have some mistakes here and there (please do report them on Discord or Reddit if you find something wrong!), and it doesn’t have the Post-game content to not spoil anything, but I do hope it will help you folks 💪

Soon I will write a new post about the things I’ve been working on lately besides RAR Islands. Things… I’m getting very excited about. Can’t wait to share more about it, but I can guarantee, many of you will be very happy to learn what it is about (if you can’t already guess 🤣).
